I made the rose bench out of this book and learned the hard way not to trust the mesurements given in the book. 16 1/2 box with overlapping ends will not fit on a 16 1/2 base. Shik this book if you are starting out.

I borrowed the book from the library and am in the process of making an outdoor table/stool set based on a project featured in the book. Although the project comes with a material list, 3D sketches of the project with some dimensions noted, some instructions on how to do certain cuts, and photos featuring several of the steps, so far every step of the way I had to take educated guesses on what materials/steps are really required to complete the project as a lot of the information is either missing or incorrect. From the start, the material list has the wrong dimensions on the wood needed for one of the components. The sketches do not appear to match the final product, or components seen in the photos showing intermediate steps. Layouts in the sketches also sometimes do not match the written instructions. Many of the critical measurements are missing; I had to reconstructed them by carefully measuring the dimensions shown in the photos. Some of the measurements called for are obviously... Read more

Great drill that really accomplishes anything I throw at it. I've been able to easily screw in 3" construction screws into dry fir. Great for flooring applications and really nice slow speed to make sure you're starting steady.
The two batteries that come with this kit are great. I've been able to go a full day without swapping. The only time I need to swap more often is if I'm using a 1" wood drill bit going through very dry fir beams/joists. I've been able to use an 18" long 1" wood drill bit without so much as a slowdown. Very impressive for a drill this size. It's my general use drill that I use for pretty much anything.

There is a reason why I only buy dewalt. They practically gave this drill set away. A must have for any household. great for standard projects. Bump up to the impact models if your gonna build a barn.

This review is from: DEWALT DC970K-2 18-Volt Drill/Driver Kit (Tools & Home Improvement)
I purchased this item for only $99 at HD. This unit includes 2 Ni-cad batteries. Why get these instead of the newer Lithium-ion? Research on the web shows that Lithium-ion batteries have a shelf life between 2-3 years. So, unlike Ni-cads, EVEN IF YOU DON'T USE THEM, they will degrade and need replacing in a couple of years. How long have they been sitting on the shelf before you buy them is anyone's guess but that is part of the battery's shelf life. Then when you do go buy new ones they cost as much as the kit did to begin with.
Perhaps if you are a professional that uses the drill all day, day after day you will be ready for a new kit every couple of years. But for the average Joe who might not use the drill for 3-4 months, you are losing battery life regardless.
Do your wallet a favor and stick with Ni-cads until the technology improves. This is an excellent drill with plenty of power. Also, Ni-cads continue to work in cold weather unlike Lithium-ions that... Read more

Stainless-steel programmable breadmaker bakes 1-, 1-1/2-, and 2-pound horizontal loaves
This review is from: Breadman TR2700 Stainless-Steel Programmable Convection Bread Maker (Kitchen)
I have been a breadmaker my entire life. There is nothing like the smell of baking bread as you walk in the door, especially on a cold winter day. The evolution of the bread machine was exciting for me. I remember the first bread machines with the tall, horizontal loaf pan that was somewhat less than exciting. Then, the "horizontal" loaf appeared. I own two of the first Breadman machines, TR845 with the horizonal loaf and as a "basic breadmaker" those are terrific. They are sturdy, relatively quiet for a breadmaker and the pan secures itself well within the machine. This model does not have all the cycles of more current models and it does not automatically add ingredients as do the TR2500, or Tr2700. However, it does offer a signal "beep" when to add ingredients such as raisons, or cranberries. I love to bake bread and give it away. I often have four breadmakers going at the same time during a holiday. Last year I purchased the Breadman TR2500, Stainless and Black. Initially I... Read more

This review is from: Breadman TR2700 Stainless-Steel Programmable Convection Bread Maker (Kitchen)
After reading the above review I went out and bought this item. All I can say is "I LOVE it." My first loaf of bread came out perfect. This bread machine has so many wonderful features; a digital panel which is easy to understand and operate, a see through window, and most importantly, very easy cleanup. Aside from easily washing the pan and paddle, I just wiped the inside of the machine with a damp cloth just as a matter of principle as nothing accummulated in there. It was virtually clean after using it. This is a wonderful upgrade from my Welbilt which is about 10 yrs old, but has served me well also. I had no problems whatsoever with it's operation such as the pan coming undone, as many have reported with the TR2500. I am looking forward to continually using the TR2700 Breadman and highly recommend it.

This review is from: Breadman TR2700 Stainless-Steel Programmable Convection Bread Maker (Kitchen)
After using the TR2200 for almost 10 years, I recently upgraded to the TR2700. Frankly there quite similar in design and use. Some new features of the 2700 I love are the convection oven which has been giving my loaves a wonderfully even crust, and it is much, much quieter than the TR2200. (I have no idea what the earlier review complaining of noise was talking about). Also, to counter another poor review, this machine DOES NOT bounce... It is solid and stable.
As for the bread, is has been great. I have made 5 loaves so far and loved them all. This is a terrific breadmachine for a great price.
