I Use The Battery That Came With The Mower To Take Care Of My Front Yard, And I Use This Replacement Battery To Take Care Of My Back Yard. No Problems At All. I live in California and the weather here has been crazy. One day the temperature was 98 degrees and it was December!!! This unit cooled my entire bedroom in 30 minutes making the temperature steady at about 67 degrees. I was and still am quite impressed with this unit. I liked it so much that I returned it and purchased this set to get the other tools for less cost. If you're buying any of these tools by themselves, you may want to consider paying a little more and getting this set instead. THE SET ITSELF: These tools are priced at over $100 each, so for a little more than the cost of two tools, you're getting all three. These aren't meant to be as powerful as gas-powered tools. "With great power comes great responsibility" gas-powered tools also need a ton of maintenance, are expensive, and aren't the best for the environment. I figured a battery powered line trimmer and hedge trimmer where just toys and that they wouldn't be useable. I used the blower exclusively for the first month of ownership and it worked like I expected blew bugs out of the bug zapper, grass clippings out of the rocks etc. I then decided what the heck I will play with the hedge trimmer no way this will work. I used it to trim up 4 Japanese Yews and 3 small blue spruce. It worked like a champ I decided lets see if it can handle something bigger. I headed down to the mulberry tree and used it to trim the low hanging branches to a decent degree of success. It cut cleanly through everything up to about 3/8's inch sticks. This is the third cordless hedge trimmer I've owned. The first two (made by Ryobi)were affordable and easy to use, but neither seemed up to the tasks I bought them to do. They frequently ended up being overwhelmed by what I considered a moderate workload and their battery life was, in a word, short (think 10-15 minutes of trimming at a stretch). So after giving up on those models I decided to get the new Black & Decker LHT2436 Cordless Hedge Trimmer and see what a 36-volt battery could do. Quick answer: a 36-volt battery is a game changer. Longer answer: a 36-volt battery provides both the power and the capacity to do at least an hour of varied trimming without a recharge - which is pretty awesome performance at this price point. I've been using the Black & Decker LHT2436 36-Volt High Performance Cordless Hedge Trimmer, 24-Inch for a couple of weeks now and I'm reasonably happy. I've trimmed a couple of small hedges, cut back some jasmine and vines and even took it to a small section of lawn that had gotten overgrown. All this on one charge. I also have a Black&Decker Trimmer Hedge Trimmer that's AC Powered and in comparison the Cordless Hedge Trimmer does feel a bit under-powered. Although it didn't have any trouble cutting through my hedges it did hesitate a bit more than the corded model. On the other hand, the lack of a cord is a huge advantage. No more worrying about cutting the power cord or moving the cord out of the way. No more dealing with extension cables and finding a place to plug it in. First I let it charge over night then I put it to work. I trimmed a few small things first to get used to it but then put it to work on a 60 foot long by 10 foot high laurel. Half way through the battery check light said it was done but it was still going strong after 2 hours. I decided to charge again over night and finished the other half the next day. I cut 2 to 3 feet off the top of the laurel plus down the sides. If I had two batteries I could have done it in one day easily. It is phenomenal not having a cord attached or having to deal with the loud and smelly gas options. It isn't too heavy and having at times to use only one hand to reach deep wasn't that difficult. Well balanced holding it with the two handles making it easy to control. From leaves to stock about 3/4 inch thick it had no problem.
